Winter is a very special time to build up our resources, tuck into a good book, create a delicious hearty soup with love while appreciating the shapes and colours of all the winter vegetables we can pick up at the local market and share the soup with some who live alone to brighten each other’s day. Sit at the roaring fire sipping sweet hot drinks spiced with cinnamon, cloves and grated peel of lemon and orange. Relax in a warm bath perfumed with spicy herbs to nourish and heal our body and soul.
This is the time for appreciating all the contrasts the winter brings to us and this is the time we can teach our children to be aware, recognise and participate in the winter season. There is so much to teach, so much to learn and so much to share in the ‘curriculum of life’, which are so relevant and important in the here and now.
